Part-Time Versus Full-Time Entrepreneur Part 10

Goal Setting and THE Strategy To Succeed

Some days you have it and some days you simply struggle. I have found it a real grind as of late with the seasons changing, it getting darker earlier in the evening and the temperature dropping. I have found it challenging to say the least to stay the course.

With that being said, I knew it was time to add some fresh content to my blog and other article directories. So, I looked at the close to 40 articles that I have published to determine which was the most popular.

I am sure you know where this is going……smile. Yes, you are correct….it was centered around “Goal Setting” and has over 400 views, 100% free marketing!

Here is my Question: Why is this one so popular? Were all of my other articles poorly written and this one flawless? I certainly don`t think so. I am a Part-Time Educator but my area of expertise is Health, Physical Education and Nutrition. With that being said, I can write but not as fluent as an English Major!

I guess I have to sit back and reflect on the idea that we set goals all the time, no matter what the industry or chosen field of work. A deadline for some IS the goal. If we know when something has to be complete, what do we do? We set small goals that help us achieve the end result. You need to know what your end result should look like and focus on the process that will get you there.

I coached Volleyball at a competitive level for a number of years and I had my players so focused on the process rather than the importance of the championship that when we would arrive at the final game they would ask, okay Mr Hachey, if we win here who do we play next?

There were many times when I would have to say…..this is the final ladies. Win you go home and lose you go home. Just decide to leave everything on the court and you will go home happy regardless knowing that you did your best.

So, when you sit down to determine your goals for the day, week, month, quarter ….. You need to determine what do I want the end result to look like and what is the process that will get me there.

Is it small goals, does it require education, does it mean I need to look for help from others, what time frame to I have, etc ?

If you want to succeed in life, be aware of the end result but FOCUS more on the process that will help you arrive at the end result. Before you know it, you will need to re-establish another goal.

Cheers – Steve

Part-Time Versus Full-Time Entrepreneur Part 6

The Use Of Forums To Formulate An Online Presence

Today I want to speak directly to those of you who are big on “Free” strategies to generate leads for your business ventures.

My last two posts were on the topic of articles! If you can write two or three articles per week, then in a year you will have roughly 100 – 150 articles live on the internet….pretty powerful if you ask me.

I want to ask the question, “is there value in spending time in a “forum” ???

Well, I am going to give you my reasons why I believe, if used properly, a forum can be a great place to learn and create an online presence. It is in forums that you can observe and study trends, watch for newly launched companies (a great place for keywords to write articles and do reviews…hint, hint) and get your name out there in cyberspace.

You want to make certain you put the time into filling out your profile. Put up a great picture of you or your family. Write a descriptive biography according to the space that is allocated and make certain that you have some place to send those who want to know more about you. For example a blog, an alternate social site or a website.

What does one do in a forum? A really powerful strategy is to create your own thread (topic) and build some discussion around that thread. You can have something controversial, simply ask a question or do some research.

Another great strategy is to try and reply to a new topic as soon as it is posted. The reason behind this is simple. Once a new topic is posted and new viewers read it, they will also likely read your response as well, especially if you are in the top 3.

With forums, it is acceptable to put a biography box which will give the other users a chance to follow up with you if they are interested in what you have to offer. You can direct your traffic to a social site, website or blog. It is here that you can begin building a relationship.

So, what are some reputable forums you might ask? I have 3 that I have used in the past and frequent from time to time.

For those who are just getting a feel for Business and Entrepreneurship then Robert Kiyosaki’s forum is a great place to start. It is located at http://www.richdad.com

If you are into internet marketing or multi-level marketing then I would visit http://www.betternetworker.com If I am not mistaken, this was originally launched by Mike Dillard and his partners.

The third and final and very diverse forum would be the warrior forum. Visit http://www.warriorforum.com It has so many communities within the forum and a great place to learn so much from so many talented and amazing individuals.

Stay tuned for more part-time versus full-time entrepreneur articles. I think my next topic shall be……The Use Of Social Sites

Cheers

Steve

Sometimes do you feel that you are juggling too many duties over the course of a day? Do you ever find yourself wishing there were more hours in the day, because there is ‘never enough time’ to get everything done? Who hasn’t wished at some point that there were more hours in a day?

Wonder why your colleagues or friends, who are as busy as you are, always seem to find time to enjoy themselves after work? Do you have this feeling that time is always against you? You are always struggling against time to finish your work assignments, and after that, there’s no energy for other things.

You are tired, and it needs a lot of strength and effort even to do the basic of household duties like fixing dinner, fetching your kids from school etc. It sometimes seems that you spend so much time rushing from place to place or task to task that you don’t actually achieve anything except for feeling more frustrated. Your social life will also be affected as you hardly have time to have a coffee or simply hang out with friends.

Whether you are looking at time management from a business level, a personal level, or as a general way of life, there is one constant: time management is about getting results and not necessarily being busy. Time management starts with being centered on what you are doing at the moment. There are some people who will argue or disagree that theoretically there is no possible way to multi-task because you can literally only perform one task at a time.

What are the benefits of having a time and information management system? You can make such notes quickly before you go to bed, have breakfast, or while you watch the news on TV. Why would you want to make such memos at such times? Simply because you can, and because it produces the space for you to be your expressive self when you are doing other important things.

Ultimately we must keep in mind we can not control time. Bold statement I know, but we can not make it go faster or slow it down. Having said that, what we really need to do is better manage ourselves. If we can do this, then we will the necessary time to plan all aspects of lives.
