Welcome back to my third and final post from my time with Mr. Randy Gage just a few days ago. In case you missed my last two (2) blog posts with words of wisdom from Mr. Gage then I encourage you to quickly go back and take 5 minutes and read them. They will fill in the background for this blog post.

To recap, I summarized Mr. Gage’s thoughts on “Duplication” and on “Culture”

Well, let’s get to today’s lesson…. “Tap Root”

“Tap Root” is a strategy or a necessity for the success of your organization and of course, your personal successes.

The Tap Root is the longest, deepest root that gathers all of the nutrition and moisture for a tree. The lifeline of the tree in other words.

So, how does this apply to Network Marketing?

It goes back to the idea of creating “Culture”. If you have a new person come into your organization, and whether a personal enrollee or otherwise, you need to help them. You need to go deep into your organization…. Basically the bottom and help grow. Doing this is called “tap rooting”.

Think of the ripple effects…. You are now working with someone who is deep in your organization…. Which means there are hundreds or perhaps thousand above them that notice new growth. Psychologically, what do you think this will do for those about the individual you are personally helping?

It is obvious it will bring about some excitement especially in those who might otherwise be idle….

So, it does two (2) things. It gets business moving more or moving again and secondly it creates that “culture” I spoke of in the last blog post. If you do this as a leader, you will have others do the same…

I think that there is a word for this…… hmmmm let me think…. Oh yeah! It is called “Duplication”

I will leave you with two things :

First and foremost, start working with those individuals who are deep in your organization, those the truly need your help and get them going and secondly if you enjoyed this read, then comment would be appreciated as well as some syndication love….

Cheers – Steve

In my last blog post I made mention that I had the pleasure of being in a workshop with Mr. Randy Gage and 25 other professionals. He shared with us his personal story and then jumped right in and encouraged us to think about the concept of “Duplication”.

I don’t want to tell the whole story again but basically, “Duplication” for some appears to be nothing more than a myth. However, coming from someone who has 31 years experience in the marketing industry, Mr. Gage would argue otherwise.

So, today I want to move onto Culture. Culture and Duplication go hand in hand. Culture deals with setting the tone or setting the pace if you will. You, as a Leader, need to take charge and create the “Culture” that will benefit your organization, your business so to speak.

How do we do this? How do we create the culture that we want? Well, you need to be consistent. You need to do daily or at least 5 days per week of consistent, results producing activities.

Spending time on social sites like Twitter and Facebook do have their place but in most cases do not produce the results that you want. It can be very effective as a platform to build relationships but until you get people on the phone or meet them in person then hiding behind the computer will not get you what you want.

Creating culture is all about finding those who are serious and locking arms with them and helping them get what they want…. Helping them get the success that they desire. Bottom line as Mr. Gage explains, in the network marketing industry, ”we get paid on the successes of those we help”.

It needs to be about “US” for Duplication, that is, work on our skill-set or our Personal and Professional Development. This will allow us to be better equipped to create a “culture” and to help keep others on track to reach their goals for success.

You don’t want to have to convince people to work. They either get it or they don’t. Mr. Gage had another great comment and that was, “Don’t convince minds, capture hearts”. Easy to accomplish if you create culture from the very beginning with your organization.

If you do not have a culture or a system in place for you personally let alone as part of the business itself then you will simple be going in circles chasing your tail.

My next blog post will further discuss culture and the concept of “Tap Root”

Two things I ask that you do:

One, would be to sit down and take 30 minutes and think about the culture that you are currently creating in your business and does it need to be re-visited?

Secondly, if this resonated with you then comments, feedback and sharing with your network would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers – Steve

If you are presently involved with, were at one time, or are looking to get involved with Network Marketing, then this blog post should resonate with you.

You see, I was fortunate, VERY fortunate to be in a conference room with 25 others for 3 hours with Mr. Randy Gage. Yes, you read that correctly…. 25 other individuals. If you don’t know who he is, google his name or visit his website at http://randygage.com

He could easily fill a room in a big center with hundreds of Professionals and charge handsomely for his knowledge but he did it for FREE. Now I am not here to tell you about my opportunity, I am here to share with you “generic” information that I learned from Mr. Gage recently and he did it for FREE.

Why is this a big deal?

Well, he used to train Professional Network Marketers, for hundreds and thousands of dollars for weekend leadership training seminars. He did that for a number of years before getting into his latest and last MLM company. Of which he has been building and training other for the past 5 years.

Does he need to train people? NO. Does he need the money? NO. Could he charge his team and all those in this company thousands of dollars for his Expertise? YES. However, he does it for Free

So, I want to share with you some of his ideas and insights into this industry of which he has been a part of for 31 years! This will take more than one blog post so here goes….

One of the very first things he did was talk about “Duplication”.

Is it real or simply a myth?

The underlying message is that Duplication begins with us. That is right, duplication starts first and foremost with us.

Network Marketing, no matter what the company or compensation plan is 99% of the time explained with “circles” and be it a matrix, unilevel, binary, quadra plan, etc…. it is all about circles and guess who is always at the top of your organization and in the very first circle? It is YOU.

So, Duplication which is real by the way, starts with YOU. How do we work on YOU? Very easily… It all starts with Personal Development…

I know this is no secret to many of you reading this but how easy is it to work on YOU? You NEED to start your day with PD. It could be exercise, reading, meditation, etc. but the most important part the we need to understand is that you need to control your attitude and your mindset and if you do this, your day will flow so much better than if you rush out of bed and rush to work, etc, etc, etc.

So here are my challenges for you today…. Begin to work on yourself. Begin to work on YOU. Go buy a book or go to your Public Library and sign out books on Personal Development, begin exercising, get your head right and do this in the early hours of the morning… get up 30 minutes earlier each day and you will begin to see results almost immediately.

Secondly, if you enjoyed this post, share it with your network and leave comments. I would love to hear your feedback. Stay tuned for more great Education to come as a result of my time with Mr Randy Gage. I will be discussing topics such as Culture, Getting Uncomfortable and Your Productivity….

Cheers – Steve

Can My Garden Actually Teach Me Something?

Well, my family and I decided to put in a garden again this year but wanted a new location. We decided on an area where the grass tends to grow twice as fast as other areas. So, we figured that it must have some good soil and it does get plenty of sun.

So, my father and I borrowed my grandfather’s tiller who has been gardening for as long as I can remember and long before I came into the world.

We took an afternoon and embarked upon this wonderful process. We tilled off the first layer of sod or grass and cleaned it all out. We then proceeded to go deeper and deeper with each pass to loosen up the soil.

Once all the area was prepped, I added some sea compost and put in my seeds and gave it a good watering.

In a matter of one week, our radish were already coming up through the soil, our herbs are doing fine and I have even noticed some spinach too!

We do have one little problem, we have a ground hog mom and 3 pups to deal with. They really like to eat dill and some of the pea plants that we started inside before putting in the ground. So, we now have to spray our plants after watering with hot sauce. You need to dilute it of course and it adds a little more time and effort to the whole process.

So, the big question is, what exactly has my garden taught me thus far?

Well, it has taught me two things to this point. One – If you want to take on a new project, you need to educate yourself and initially put in hours of work. Two – you have to be consistent with looking after your garden. This includes watering, protecting the plants from critters, and in due time… cleaning out the weeds!

You can take some of these principles and apply them to life and business too. When online, you need to put in a lot of time building the relationships initially and then you need consistent contact. Not necessarily daily but weekly and perhaps it may get to a point where it is only every couple of weeks.

Back to my radish for a minute. Here is an analogy. I put in lots of work from the beginning and the radish actually responded within 7 days! Imagine putting in all the time we do on Social Media and we are able to build a deep relationship with someone in 7 days. Talk about a reward for all of your initial time and effort.

Now, I need to keep giving my radish daily attention and still take note of the other vegetables yet to emerge.

Call me crazy but I think I will have to do a “part 2” with this post because there are so many parallels with my garden and relationships and life in general!

If you liked this post, I would be honored if you Retweeted it, posted it to Facebook or simply left a comment.

Cheers – Steve

I had a very inspiring talk with Kary Rogney late one evening and thought that it was a good time to share this information. I have been on this journey lately trying to discover why I need to blog and needed some guidance.

Kary was able to open my eyes and clarify some points that had been troubling me for some time now.

One of my main dilemmas was having a niche or main focus for my blog. Kary really helped me understand that I don’t need to be focused on one topic of interest. He believes that is a common mistake. Too many blogs which are beginning to emerge are lacking character.

I don’t want to put words in Kary’s mouth but I believe he was talking about the fact that they are too information laden. Too much emphasis on marketing or business, which is okay but to really build relationships, you need to have a blog that is set up much differently.

Kary mentions that people will stop visiting if they don’t feel welcome and can’t make that connection with you. Don’t get me wrong, I have sites that I visit that are all about education and marketing and am not looking to connect with any particular individual.

Bottom line, your blog needs to be real and updated with fresh content on a consistent basis, something that I WAS guilty of. Talk about your family, your passions, what you do for fun. You want to show visitors a snapshot of what you are all about and what it is that you have to offer them.

Obviously you need to offer quality content or educational value as a reason for them to want to stay in touch with you and connect.

The big shift at the moment for online activity is to form “Tribes”. If you have NO IDEA what I am talking about then you must be living under a rock. Seriously! Do yourself a favor and go out and purchase Seth Godin’s “Tribes” or borrow it from someone. You will be glad you did….

With blogging in particular, you can find other like-minded individuals who share similar passions and begin building that relationship. Ultimately, find enough people to form that Tribe and create a product that you can market and share with others. I will expand more on that in the coming weeks.

There are still far too many marketers out there sharing old information and trying to do it all by themselves. All they want to talk about is their business opportunity. It is one dimensional and eventually they WILL fall flat on their face. You want to have more than one stream of income. If you use products for marketing and you like them, then promote it as an affiliate.

You need to leverage your resources and give, give, give. … because in order to receive you must first learn to give.

My challenge to you and I will leave it at this is to go and find your tribe, find others who you can work with and build relationships that will last a lifetime. Please note, it may take weeks or several months to find a core of people who you can work with.

Oh, one more thing…. Go check out Kary Rogney’s Blog if you want to see what blogging and tribes are all about. This guy is without question a leader in this segment of the marketing industry.

I look forward to hearing your feedback and if you enjoyed the content, go forth and share it with others!

Cheers – Steve

Yes, you read that title correctly, is said… ‘Ready, Fire, Aim’ not the familiar and well known saying, “Ready, Aim, Fire”…..

So my last blog post talked about taking action and gaining traction. Well today I want to talk about taking that action.

Many times I find myself guilty of wanting things to be too perfect. Plan, plan, plan but fail to take action. I get all of these great ideas and say once this is ready and I have this all figured out then I will begin. Well, too many times it gets me nowhere. I don’t end up taking action.

I am confident that there are some of you reading this that know exactly what I am talking about.

So, why the analogy of ‘Ready, Fire, Aim’? Well, that is simple…..

Think about the space shuttle, it is never truly on course but it will find its way to the moon or the destination of the mission in question. It is “Ready” it is “Firing” and it is constantly readjusting or “Aiming”

So, why can’t we do the exact same thing? Is it the fear of failing, is it due to lack of confidence, is it not having someone to push you along? It could any number of reasons but it is personal for each and every one of us.

Having said all of this, I challenge you to get ready, start making mistakes, learn from them, adjust and keep on moving forward!.

Let me know how you make out…. I want to hear from you

Cheers – Steve

Okay, I know the title is a little much….no it is way too much but I hope you take 2 minutes to read below to get my message.

It has been a few months since I last posted something and for that I am truly embarrassed. I could come up with all kinds of reasons and excuses but I will save both you and me the time.

It wasn’t until yesterday that I watched a great little video that was all of 5 minutes long but it certainly hit home with me and that is why I am finally back in the game so to speak.

The video was by the well known “Law of Attraction” expert, John Assaraf. He alluded to that fact that 99.9% of those who live by the ‘Law of Attraction’ are actually NOT using it properly.

His video discussed a few other great ideas but the one that stuck with me was the word ‘Attraction’

Bottom line is that you need to take ‘Action’. We can make all the vision boards or dream boards, do daily affirmations, write out our long term and short term goals but when this is all said and done…… we still need to take ACTION!

Mr Assaraf made the connection with the word ‘Action’ in that it is found in the word ‘Attraction’ of Law of Attraction.

I want to take things a step further make you aware of another word found in ‘Attraction’ and that is ‘Traction’. Once you take ‘Action’ there will be some ‘Traction’ that will follow. BUT and this is a biggy, if you stop or slow down for one minute you will begin to lose your ‘Traction’

I am guilty of this and well aware of it. I worked at things consistently for well over a year but then slowed down and took a break. I thought that I needed it and for health reasons, I certainly did, but know it is time to once again take ‘action’ and begin creating some ‘traction’…..

So the big question is who is with me? Who wants to begin doing daily activities that will get you where you want to go and accomplish all of your goals one at a time. I am ready to take ACTION and once I get some TRACTION, look out!

Cheers – Steve

Just How Difficult Is Marketing Online?

I had a short conversation with an individual who was successful by most people’s standards when it came to being a leader in Marketing (MLM). He built a sizeable organization with little or no help from an upline but after about 3 years with the company found that people were leaving faster than they were joining. He said he had no problem ‘recruiting’ people, but he had issue with people not wanting to put in the time and effort with growing and succeeding in Marketing.

This is where today’s lesson begins…….

Contrary to what you may have been told, MLM is not about recruiting as many people as you can and building up a huge moment and hope that a few hundred stick around and pay the industry average $150.00 per month on an autoship.

Marketing is about Education and not only education but keeping abreast of the latest trends. If you are reading this article on my blog then you are current. You likely understand the importance of having a blog. You no longer want to send those who are interested in business to a generic company website.

What you want is for them to learn about you and what you have to offer should they choose to follow you in your present marketing company. The key element……YOU.

What are your skills? Have you taken any online courses on topics like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Blogging? All of these topics are vehicles that will help you build long lasting relationships and a healthy organization.

Now Rome wasn’t built in a day and learning this type of information could take months and there are always new techniques evolving and being taught. Well, if you noticed, 2 of my last 3 blog posts have been on ‘Tribes’. ‘Tribes’ are the latest craze on the internet and if you are still uncertain what I am speaking about then I want you to read the questions below and take inventory of where you currently find yourself….

What if you could become part of a community that shared the same passion for learning, for developing new skills, for growing, for helping others, etc?

What if for a small fee, in comparison to the weekend course that cost thousands of dollars, you could learn about the latest trends with some of the top leaders in Marketing today?

What if there was a way to get all of this in a well thought out and well structured package that included its very own NING community?

What if?

So I ask you this, would you be willing to pay for several weeks education? Have full access to the recorded webinars and become surrounded with other individuals that have similar goals and objectives?

Would you not want to work with leaders in other markets, companies, etc where you can learn from them and have access to them anytime you want?

I think it is easy to see the importance of education. So, if you are interested in taking your business to the next level, send me an email to info@whoisstevehachey.com or look me up on Skype at !stevehachey

I look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers – Steve

I came across this story today and felt it was necessary for me to share…. I trust you will do the same upon reading it…..

One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school. His name was Kyle.

It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd.

I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.

As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him…

He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes. My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye.

As I handed him his glasses, I said, ‘Those guys are jerks.’ They really should get lives. He looked at me and said, ‘Hey thanks!’ There was a big smile on his face..

It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude.

I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before..

He said he had gone to private school before now. I would have never hung out with a private school kid before.

We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friends and he said yes. We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him.

Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again. I stopped him and said, Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday

He just laughed and handed me half the books. Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends..

When we were seniors we began to think about college. Kyle decided on Georgetown and I was going to Duke.

I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem. He was going to be a doctor and I was going for business on a football scholarship..

Kyle was valedictorian of our class. I teased him all the time about being a nerd.

He had to prepare a speech for graduation. I was so glad it wasn’t me having to get up there and speak

Graduation day, I saw Kyle. He looked great. He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school… He filled out and actually looked good in glasses.

He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him. Boy, sometimes I was jealous! Today was one of those days. I could see that he was nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the back and said, ‘Hey, big guy, you’ll be great!’

He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled.

Thanks, he said.

As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began…

Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years. Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach…but mostly your friends…..

I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them. I am going to tell you a story.

I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the first day we met.

He had planned to kill himself over the weekend.

He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn’t have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home. He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile. Thankfully, I was saved.

My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable…

I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment.

I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile.

Not until that moment did I realize it’s depth.

Never underestimate the power of your actions..

With one small gesture you can change a person’s life.

For better or for worse……

God puts us all in each others lives to impact one another in some way.

Look for God in others.

You now a choice, you can :

1) Pass this on to your friends by retweeting it, social bookmarking it, posting it on Facebook

or

2) Say that was a nice story and act like it didn’t touch your heart….

It’s your call…..

As you can see, I took choice number 1…

Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly. There is no beginning or end… Yesterday is history…..Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift…. That is why they call it the present.

Know That You Are Appreciated……..

More Tribe Talk

In my last blog post I made mention of the latest craze on Twitter, Facebook and the Internet as a whole……. “TRIBES”. Today I want to revisit the idea and explain where I am coming from.

I joined the tribe mastermind 1.0 in late December and was immediately welcomed with arms wide open by approximately 25 other like-minded individuals.

We are all in “Marketing” to some degree and all in different companies, with the exception the leaders of this tribal moment who are part of the same company and exploding things like never seen before. They are using social media (the skills and attributes they have mastered) to build a business.

I quickly discovered that I needed to create a blog post on a weekly basis as everyone belonging to the community was doing the same and we were required to have open minds to learn, share and discuss any and all content. It was networking in its purest form. No selling, recruiting, trying to make money off of each other, no comparing of each other’s companies….. just a time to build healthy and long lasting business relationships.

Each and every member that I have worked with thus far has some sort of talent. One in particular, Kimberly Castleberry, literally saved my blog! She is…. and I say this in the most respectful way… a computer techy. She knows computers and I am…. shall we say a little behind the times but learning every day!

There were a series of classes (webinars) that educated everyone on the call no matter whether you were a beginner or an “expert” in your area. I learned so many new things about Facebook that I never knew before. Other topics included Twitter, Youtube, Blogging and Content Creation/Syndication just to name a few.

We are very privileged to have six (6) great Leaders who keep us on track and are the brains of the operation but there are so many other great leaders in training just waiting to break out…… Each and everyone who is in the “tribe” is a Leader in many respects. We are all going to be great leaders with the guidance of the six at the top.

If you would like further information, feel free to contact any of the following individuals:

Kary Rogney

Michael Feil

Ken Pickard

Eric Goldstein

They will be hosting a FREE WEBINAR on Thursday, Jan 28th to further discuss and educate us on a series of topics that will help anyone who desires to take their marketing campaign to the next level, no matter where you currently find yourself.

webinar…. no strings attached…..

What are you waiting for?
